Devean George to miss some time

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page, Injuries by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 10:24 pm

Devean George had just been inserted into the starting line up at shooting guard when he went down with a injury. George will be out until early March with a sprained MCL in his right knee. This could hurt the Mavericks a little bit as George was playing pretty well at the time of his injury. Look for Devin Harris to get a shot to get his starting job back while George is out.

The Mavericks dominate the league in the first half of the season

Blogged under Bloglockers, Front Page by Nothing but Net on Tuesday 20 February 2007 at 10:17 pm

The Mavericks are 44-9 on the season which is the best record in the NBA. They lead the Suns by 4.5 games for the best record in the Western Conference and they lead the Spurs by 9 games in the Southwest Division. The Mavericks finished up the first half of the season with a current 9 game winning streak. The Mavericks are getting another MVP-type season from Dirk Nowitzki, but Josh Howard has really stepped up his game and that’s taken a lot of pressure off of Nowitzki and Jason Terry on offense. The Mavericks also have gotten great rebounding and defense out of their centers, Erick Dampier and DaSagana Diop. Look for the Mavericks to wind up with the #1 seed in the Western Conference and a return trip to the NBA Finals.
