Devean George had just been inserted into the starting line up at shooting guard when he went down with a injury. George will be out until early March with a sprained MCL in his right knee. This could hurt the Mavericks a little bit as George was playing pretty well at the time of his injury. Look for Devin Harris to get a shot to get his starting job back while George is out.
Starting small forward Josh Howard is going to miss two weeks with a sprained ankle. This hurts the Mavericks as Howard was averaging 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game so far this season. Look for Jerry Stackhouse to try to pick up the slack in the scoring department to cover for Howard.
Devin Harris is questionable for opening night with an injured hamstring. The Mavs need Harris, because he plays tough defense and is turning into a leader on the court.
